CHARNAUD® has designed the AQUA-TECH® range to protect miners, construction workers, agricultural workers, as well as professionals in other fields, against wet weather. CHARNAUD® explains how to wear the products in this range to achieve maximum protection.
The Benefits Of AQUA-TECH® PPE
AQUA-TECH® is a range of industrial waterproof rainwear garments made from PVC-coated fabrics available in medium and heavy weight fabric for industrial use. The PVC is coated onto a woven polyester base fabric (backer), which keeps you dry and lasts much longer than other unsupported fabrics. These garments are ideal for use in industry, construction, agriculture and mining applications. The PVC coating is waterproof and will keep you totally dry even as you work in heavy rain. They are also designed for comfort and to be put on and worn with ease.

How to Effectively Wear AQUA-TECH® PPE
To get the most out of your AQUA-TECH® gear it is a good idea to follow a few simple tips. The most important thing is to ensure your regular clothing – which absorbs water quickly – is completely covered and protected at all times.
Firstly, if possible, when putting on your CHARNAUD® AQUA-TECH® jacket, take another layer off. Rain jackets are warm and can get quite sweaty, especially with physical exertion, especially during the warmer months. If you were already wearing a mid-layer, let your rain jacket replace it, rather than adding to it.
Another tip is to cuff the hem of your hiking pants and shirt sleeves underneath your rain pants and jacket. It’s important to keep your non-waterproof layers from sliding out underneath your shell, as they will quickly start to absorb water. Cuffing ensures they won’t escape their protective layers and provides a buffer zone between what is wet and what is dry.
Tuck your undershirt into your rain pants. Just like cuffing your sleeves or pants, the goal here is to prevent the hem of your shirt from draping below your jacket or becoming exposed to the elements if your jacket should ever ride up.
